A jam party at our house and Christmas eve day on the reef

With visions of Pennsylvania small-kid days and snow in my head, the water was unusually  clear and beautiful over at Queen's beach today. I used to dream of going to a warm beach in the winter and now I can do just that - I snorkeled around the jetty and found some cool-looking yellow and black fish. Had a Christmas gathering at our house last night, so much great food and music, and awesome conversation, so little time. Fun that both comedians and musician-friends showed up. We will have to do it again and invite more people:   MELE KALIKIMAKA! May all your wishes come true in 2012 (and mine, too ;)

Waimanalo boogie-boarding and hostin' Christmas Comedy show@Indigo Restaurant

Hi All -
Happy Holidays! With some time off from my dayjob, I  boogie-boarded an awesome, windy day in Waimanalo the other day, snorkeled with some impressive Surgeonfish another day and hosted the Comedy Christmas night in the Opium Den at Indigo Restaurant in Honolulu's Chinatown. I apologize for not getting a picture of headliner, Jhonny Rox Hollywood, his act was particularly awesome, with Christmas songs and the Minnie song and hilarious comedy~ I want to send out a special thank you out to all of you around the world for following my blog this year so regularly - I started it in March and am so impressed by how many people visit here. In the next year, there will be jewelry give-aways, more fabulous abstract paintings for sale, photographs and comedy pictures and video. Thanks for enjoying the ride with me and don't forget to think BIG - Aloha!

LOVE these waves, they are perfect (for me) every time! Waimanalo is awesome!

Kaimana Beach, more toilet troubles and a cool, Christmas party on Waialae Iki

Hi All~ Mele Kalikimaka from Hawaii!  Had a fun day at Kaimana Beach, then our toilet exploded again for the 5th time, plumbers are working on it and I got EVEN more comedy material from the whole, funny situation - the shit jokes are-a-flyin' these days! Christmastime in Hawaii and a new abstract painting

Christmastime in Hawaii is a great time - it's also weird!  I grew up in Pennsylvania and I can't help but chuckle at those old songs "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" and "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..." because it's still 80 degrees here every day and we go to the beach just like the rest of the year. Also, ninety percent of the time, it's a sunny day!  Island folks decorate just like the rest of the country even though most of us have no fireplace and the world is as green as ever. Lucky we live hawaii~

Fabulous sunsets, December beach and the end of comedy night at the Dragon Upstairs

Ahhhh, wintertime in Hawaii...bright sunny, muggy days which make for awesome sunsets. Comedy at the Dragon Upstairs has been cancelled due to our growing numbers, an awesome thing!  We will resume awesome comedy shows at Indigo Restaurant in their Opium den room starting Dec. 14th, 2011 at 8 pm. They have dinner and pupus, here is their website: http://www.indigo-hawaii.com/~ so excited! Stay tuned for more comedy comin' your way, and a brand-new abstract watercolor is also in the works. I can't say enough good things about Blick's Neocolor II watercolor crayons, I just ordered some more colors. They respond to water in such an awesome way!
ALOHA and Mele Kalikimaka from Honolulu~

Coolest sunset ever!

Funny and cool how people put their leis on statues around town!

LOVE me some banyan trees

"Rainbow Shave-Ice Palm Trees"

This day was all foggy and misty, I like how this shot looks like a painting~

Our Christmas tree (a Norfolk pine that lives in a pot outside the rest of the year), an excellent book and a painting-in-progress. In two weeks, I will have two weeks' staycation~Hawaii no ka oi!
