1st meeting of FCOH, BIGGEST Comedy crowd at the Dragon, Purple Jellyfish and a new abstract watercolor!
Hi All! Lots has been happening lately: We had the 1st physical meeting of the Female Comics of Hawaii group at the Hau Tree Lanai restaurant on 11/20/11 and have a bigger meeting scheduled for next month and all kinds of cool plans in the works, stay tuned! The biggest crowd yet showed up at the Dragon Upstairs on Wed., 11/23/11 and the comics and I rocked the house, there was 70 people at the height of the night due to two of the comics leaving the island. Joe and I ate Thanksgiving lunch at his parents in Kaimuki, then walked/biked to the beach and found an interesting, purple jellyfish swimming around, we weren't sure what it was, actually!
First meeting of the Female Comics of Hawaii, Kristen Sprague and Erika Swartzkopf

My Joe got to come out and see me perform!
Comic, Grant Uchida wowed the crowd with his Thanksgiving song!
Friends Eli and Tina came out to see me perform
Getting ready to go up on stage!
My set - Quite a challenge with loud, military guys in the audience but I did all right

The banyan tree near Queens' beach, where we snorkeled Thanksgiving Day
Joe the biker!
The mysterious, purple Jellyfish we found (not sure if it even WAS a jellyfish, lol). That's why I LOVE snorkeling, you never know what you'll find next.

New Abstract Watercolor, clouds, comedy and back patio
So, we've been fixing up our back patio and it's looking very nice now. Our old studio did not have a secluded, outdoor place for us to hang out but this new house does and we love it! Nice also that there is wifi out there. Got a cool shot of clouds in the shape of a heart on one of my walks. Check out my new, official head-shot for comedy! (thanks, Joe) I was interviewed last week for a national comedy magazine, the Comic Bible Magazine, look for it really soon. My new abstract is called, "The Aloha Tree" - I think I have been very influenced by all the banyan tree pictures I've been taking~ ALOHA!
I heart clouds!

A week's break from performing comedy and some awesome photos
The open mic was cancelled for this week - sorta glad because it allows me more time to write more comedy stuff and memorize it for next Wed open mic at the Dragon Upstairs. Sometimes it's good to rewrite, rethink and retool to make things funnier and better than ever before, stay tuned! I also did an exciting interview for the Comic Bible Magazine, which will be published soon, excited to be in a national comedy magazine! Also I got some details together for the first physical meeting of my Facebook group, "Female Comics of Hawaii". Our first meeting (female comics only!) will be on Nov. 20th at the Hau Tree Lanai Restaurant at 11 am. We plan to talk about comedy, help each other out with writing jokes and thinking up great ideas for premises. Oh, and did I mention that mimosas will be involved? Bwahahahaha!
Also, I found these three shots from the Friday two weeks ago when we watched an awesome sunset at Kaimana Beach, and they were too good not to publish~ ALOHA!
